Rather, these words – addressed by Dr. Rudolf Hauschka to Elisabeth Sigmund – signified the beginning of Dr.Hauschka Skin Care. The year was 1962. Viennese doctor Rudolf Hauschka wanted to extend the WALA product range by adding an exceptional type of cosmetic that reflected the ideas of the company and enhanced the health of the skin – the body’s largest organ. He wrote a letter of inquiry to cosmetologist Elisabeth Sigmund, also a native of Vienna. Hauschka was so enthusiastic about her reply – which was filled with exceptional ideas about new approaches to cosmetics – that he invited her to Eckwälden.
Elisabeth Sigmund lost no time in packing her bags and leaving Stockholm, where she was living at the time, and making her way to Eckwälden. In a phase of intensive work, the new “WALA” skin care range was developed by a diverse team consisting of pharmacists, chemists, anthroposophical doctors and cosmetologist Elisabeth Sigmund.
