WALA & taz Panther Award
An award for the heroes of everyday life
WALA sponsored the 2008 Panther award and is sponsoring it again in 2010. This award is presented by German daily newspaper taz to people who have the courage to ‘change circumstances for the better’. These people perform outstanding work in a social, political or often purely personal context – usually far from the limelight. The Panther award gives them the recognition that their work deserves.
In supporting the Panther award, WALA identifies with the idea of encouraging and supporting those who are engaged in voluntary work for a good cause. It is a way of saying thank you to people who use their time and their energy to help others and make the world that little bit better.
