The work of WALA Heilmittel GmbH is based on the teachings of Dr. Rudolf Steiner. The science described by him as anthroposophy perceives natural processes to be cycles which rhythmically oscillate from one polarity to another, becoming refined in the process. In imitation of the cycles in free nature, rhythms and cycles play a key role in the manufacture of WALA’s products, for instance in the form of biodynamic cultivation, in which the farm with livestock and plant cultivation is largely considered to be a self-contained entity (see Section 5.5). All processes in the overall organism of the earth can only complete stable cycles when humans integrate themselves effectively. Our company feels a responsibility to the coming generations to maintain the overall organism of the earth so that they can enjoy life as we know it today. We understand our responsibility for the environment and nature as an investment in the future to protect our planet. The following specific aspects are of great concern to us in this fundamental concept:
WALA is of course aware that these ideals may not be completely feasible in some areas. But ongoing review of existing processes and used materials leads to sustainable improvement. The legal specifications serve as minimum requirements, whereas WALA’s requirements are even more stringent in many cases. All WALA employees are obliged to commit to these goals, including preventing potential environmental damage. This applies equally to the laboratory departments, manufacturing, administration, technology, acquisition and development of new preparations. As part of its dedication to the environment, WALA has established its own environmental office to identify ecological shortcomings and attempt to remedy them in an economically viable manner. This office reviews new technologies, procedures and methods and integrates them into the company as appropriate.
