In October 2007, we joined forces with leading natural cosmetic companies to form the NaTrue interest grouping. As a result, starting this year our key environmental data will be classified according to the initiative’s requirements for raw materials used in natural cosmetics.
Natural substances: Substances of plant, inorganic-mineral or animal origin as well as their mixtures and reaction products thereof that remain chemically unchanged.
Nearly natural substances: Substances obtained through chemical reactions of renewable raw materials.
Nature-identical substances: Substances which exist in this form in nature but are obtained from chemical reactions.
The following tables show the amounts of raw materials used in the past years in the manufacture of our products:

We define operational supplies as materials that are not directly used in the manufacture of our products but which are necessary for related tasks. Key operational supplies for us include cleaning agents and disinfectants to meet the stringent hygienic requirements in production, and fuel to operate our fleet of vehicles, especially for our sales representatives in the field.
