What did we implement and achieve?

We were able to conserve energy in the new construction through innovative technology in the form of a magnet condenser.

We invested considerable time and effort in a systematic analysis and evaluation of our consumption of cleaning agents and disinfectants. The collected data allowed us to optimise the dosing of cleaning agents and disinfectants and significantly decrease our consumption of these substances.

The increase in fuel consumption arises from increased vehicle mileage of WALA sales representatives. If one considers the overall consumption relative to overall mileage however, fuel efficiency per kilometre remained nearly the same as the previous year. All WALA sales representatives once again took part in a fuel-conservation driving course.

Three electric bicycles have been added to our fleet of vehicles for local transport between the various sites. A carpool platform on the intranet helps WALA employees to organise ride sharing, making daily and weekend commutes as environmentally friendly as possible. We hold a regular introductory event to better inform employees about environmental protection at WALA. We also conduct environmental protection campaigns featuring informational materials and practical demonstrations, for instance on how to conserve fuel when driving.
